Tree planting boost

In case you haven’t heard, there are free tree packs available to community groups and schools from the Woodlands Trust. For further details log on to: http://www.woodlandtrust.org.uk/en/plant-trees/help-advice/Pages/trees-for-communities.aspx
It’s a good idea to plan ahead for a Spring tree planting project.  Over the winter months, you can find out where land is available from the Council Staff. If you need advice or support, please get in touch with staff at Renfrewshire Environmental Trust.

The Soil Association has produced a report highlighting the threats from phosphates running out. Details at: http://www.soilassociation.org/News/NewsItem/tabid/91/smid/463/ArticleID/1435/reftab/494/t/New-threat-to-global-food-security-as-phosphate-supplies-become-increasingly-scarce/Default.aspx

It is necessary to support local food production which addressed these issues and promotes sustainable farming.  There are programmes skillled farmers and growers in adapating to climate change and developing organic food production. Supporting organic producers by purchasing organic goods whenever you can helps!
